RIDE TO VULTURE CYCLES OPEN HOUSE

Lightbox-photos

Mark your calendars!   On Thursday October 27, 2011 Vulture Cycles will be hosting  the first annual "ride to Vulture Cycles open house"   Meet at the Kayak Flowers sculpture at the Bend Parks and Rec. parking lot at Farewell Bend Park at 2:30pm.  You will need a bike you are comfortable with riding in gravel, as we will be taking the "back way" to the  Vulture Cycles shop.  The ride to the shop will be aprox. an hour and at the shop we will have refreshments and I will talk a lot. Depending on how long we refresh and talk,  you may need a light.   We will then ride back to town together.

A CHAIN IS MADE OF MANY LINKS

I just got back from attending the Oregon Manifest in Portland, had a great time with Team Metrofiets. We didn't win, but my friend Tony did, and my other friend Rob got second place. Yeah, boys. They should call it the Portland Man-Fest. In cyclocross news, Team Boneyard has had a great showing at all 5 cross races we have had in end so far. Everyone is stoked about their bikes, now it is time to move on up to the Cross Crusade. You should be looking forward to the Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show here in BENDOR at the end of October, vamos a disfrutarnos por dia de los muertos!

CARGO BIKE PRODUCTION

VULTURE CYCLES is wrapping up manufacturing a run of cargo bikes in collaboration with Metrofiets in Portland. They're kinda like the pickup truck for cyclists. They are good for transporting friends, beer, items from yard sales, and buckets of nuts and bolts. What kid doesn't wanna ride this thing to the next party in the woods?

OAKRIDGE QUICKIE

I pulled myself away from the shop for one day and went to Oakridge to ride with my buddies. Yeah! Bunchgrass, what an epic trail, primative and burly, but it is cool because it gets easier as you go, and finishing off with Heckletooth always makes me stoked. No matter what, after a day of riding these trails, my switchback skills were forced to improve. Check out whats happening in OR OR  http://www.fatfiftyfive.com/. Thanks to Chris, Jerry, and Eugene for the ride and many thanks to Kate and Liz for the help and rad food.
